Volunteer Opportunities
To volunteer your time and talent, please submit a Volunteer Application online or download a pdf version to mail to Peacemakers.
Volunteer Work Areas:
+ Teach Peace to elementary and middle school children with Peacemakers Incorporated in affiliation with the MasterPEACE program of Today Mark's the Beginning. Volunteers are needed for projects during school hours. Call Rosann Naim at the Peacemakers office for more information. 972-239-2942
+ Luncheon Committee for the 3rd Annual Peacemakers Luncheon on September 21, 2011. Volunteers are needed now to help in the following areas:
Marketing and Promotion: sell ad space, solicit sponsors and guests, design and layout program, and more
Silent Auction: Solicit donations from restaurants and other businesses; collect items; store items; transport items; design layout and display; write copy, photograph; set-up, organize, monitor, and operate onsite.
Table Decorations: create and store .
+ Data Entry and Word Processing--provide assistance in database maintenance, record keeping, communications, etc.
+ Events--provide assistance in planning, hosting, and coordinating events and meetings; staff a table at an event; etc.
+ Fundraising--help plan fundraising events and activities, obtain sponsorships, grant writing, etc.
+ Newsletter--provide assistance in writing articles for newsletters
+ Outreach-- work with newly located refugees to welcome them to the DFW ara and connect them to free non-profit services.
+ Performance--volunteer your talent as speaker, artist, performer, or presenter for events.
+ Phone Bank--make phone calls to volunteers, members, donors, and others for reminders, invitations, information, etc.
+ Publicity--provide media research and connections, write, design, etc.
+ Professional Support (as In-Kind Donation)-- tax preparation, auditing, legal services, web design, photography, public relations and marketing services, etc.
+ Research--provide internet research on peace related areas including local, national and international organizations; governments; educational and religious institutions, etc.
+ Volunteer coordination--provide leadership in coordinating volunteers in various work areas including the areas listed here
+ Social Networking and Website---use social media outlets, Facebook , Twitter and others, to promote Peacemakers; assist in website maintenance and online networking with individual and organizational peacemakers throughout the world.
