Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.
Indeed, its the only thing that ever has.

The BePeace Workshop presented by Rita Marie Johnson, founding director of the Academy for Peace of Costa Rica. The methodology of this Academy is being fully integrated into the Ministry of Education with the support of AED (similar to the United Way in the USA).

This workshop will introduce the practice of BePeace, the synergistic combination of HeartMath for “feeling peace” and Nonviolent Communication for “speaking peace”. It will include exercises so that the transformational power of this method can be experienced.

International Art Exhibit
We are pleased to share a slide show of the small works on paper by artists who contributed to the International Art Exhibit at the 3rd International Women's Peace Conference. We received a rich variety of expression on the the theme, "Vision of Peace." Almost 250 works were displayed in the main plenary hall during the conference. All of the conference attendees were assembled in this room at various times during the conference for sessions, but the "art wall" became a destination in itself.

The beautiful artworks, contributed by women and men, are thought provoking, emotionally moving and inspiring. The collection of drawings, paintings, photos, and collages represents hopes, dreams and yearnings for a peaceful world.

Peace Pole Dedication
On September 19, 2007, a Peace Pole was dedicated at Dallas City Hall and planted in front of the Dallas Convention Center, on Marilla between Field and Akard. Suzanna Brown, a Peace Conference volunteer coordinator, organized the events with the assistance of City of Dallas officials: Mary Suhm, Jack Ireland, and Deborah Shelby-Bunton.

The Peace Pole was presented to the City of Dallas by Paula Christine of The World Peace Prayer Society, headquartered in New York. Ms Christine also conducted the Peace Flag Ceremony with the help of the girls of the third grade class of Hockaday School, Dallas, Texas.
