Non-profit Leader and Peace Educator
Laura Seipp, President
After nearly twenty years in the electronics industry, the birth of her second child in 2001, and the events of 9/11, Laura Seipp found her true calling as an educator for peace. She taught for seven years at the Robert Muller Center for Living Ethics, has been involved with the Global Elementary Model United Nations for ten years and, in 2008, founded the North Texas Peace Learning Center. Through the latter, she has taught Peace Camp for kids, Life Skills for staff and volunteers at The Bridge and Discovering Yourself, Moving Forward for clients at City Square. The latest incarnation of these teachings is The Science and Art of Nonviolent Existence (SANE) taught to Dallas County jail inmates affected by addiction. A new course, the Art of Nonviolence for teens, in being developed and will be taught in the summer of 2018.
Currently a faculty member at El Centro College, Laura teaches courses in the Adult Education and Literacy and Citizens in Transition programs.
Laura first served on the board of Peacemakers, Inc. as Director of Education from 2010-2013.
Laura holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.
Although having lived all her life in the city, Laura feels most at home in the wilderness of the American west, especially in a tent with her daughter.
